soul care is self care
Are you ready to journey well?
DID YOU KNOW...
Comparison, jealousy, anger, angst, anguish, fear, hiding, unforgiveness, self-sufficiency, self-centeredness, self-protecting and mistrust all reside in the heart? ( Mark 7:21-23)
The Bible mentions the heart almost three hundred times. When it does, it's not referring to our physical hearts, the organ that we know to pump blood to the body.
When "the heart" is mentioned in the Word, it's referring to... the heart is that spiritual part of us where our emotions and desires dwell.
There's no wonder the Bible instructs us that we should guard our hearts since everything that we do flows from it. (Proverbs 4:23), and that we should instead of leaning on our own understanding, we should trust the Lord with all of our heart. (Proverbs 3:5)
So, why all this talk about the heart? As your journey coach it's where we begin. The heart. In order to experience true lasting transformation there must be a heart change.
Now here's the miraculous part, God is the only One that has the power to change hearts. He wants to change your heart and He doesn't leave you to do it on your own (Ezekiel 36:26).
My role as your coach in this (change of heart) is holding space for you, taking the lead of the Holy Spirit as to what questions to ask you, what prayers to pray for you, and essentially when to probe you to go deeper.
afflicted… not crushed
In the Bible, the word test means, to prove by trial. Right now, you’re probably here because you feel as though you're being afflicted at every turn, in some sort of barren wilderness, or dry wasteland. That things aren’t happening in your life the way that you want or expect them to.
Naturally when we find ourselves dealing with…
Mourning and brokenness
Everything else in Your life Tends to take a backseat.
Feelings of abandonment, confusion, regret and self-pity start to consume you. You may attempt to hustle your way out by striving harder, educating yourself more, following supposed gurus and leaning into self-help hoping it’ll all somehow magically make things better. You may try to hide (your true feelings and circumstances) from God, and others to avoid facing the root cause of your challenges. You’re more likely to go inward, with your focus on yourself and everything that’s wrong in your life. This can lead to depression and anxiety.
How would you like to discover the way forward to living with a restored, healed and strengthened mind, and with stable emotions? Having consistent feelings of hope, joy, peace and love… instead of feeling crushed, perplexed, in despair, lost and abandoned no matter the situation?
are you committed?
This not about taking on some woo woo, fake it until you make it or bury your head in the sand and pretend all-is-well world-view. This is about stepping into your rightful place as a daughter and heir to a promise, hope and future that isn’t wrought with fearfulness and timidity. Lacking self-discipline and sound judgement ( 2 Timothy 1:7).
