 Daily Devotional Guide INTRODUCTION

Your life has both a destination and a destiny. A destination is a place where you are going. As a believer, your final destination is Heaven where you will spend eternity in the presence of God.

A destiny is the purpose for which you were created. It is the predetermined plan which you were destined by God to fulfill.

Sadly, many believers will reach their final destination, but will not have fulfilled their destiny.

The subject of this devotional guide is destiny, specifically your divine destiny. The premise of this guide is that God has had a unique plan for you from the beginning the world.

Basic to your divine destiny is your salvation, as "...God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). But your divine destiny goes far beyond your decision to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. God has a special purpose for you that is different from every other person on earth. You have a specific, divine destiny. As the Lord said to Jeremiah, He is saying to you:

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5)

Your may not be a prophet like Jeremiah, but the destiny for your life is just as special, just as specific, and was determined by God while you were still in your mother's womb.

This devotional guide is designed for those who want to reach their God-given potential and enter in to all the promises that God has reserved for them. To do this will require perseverance. It will require taking a hard look at yourself and dealing with difficult spiritual issues that are standing in the way of fulfilling your destiny.

This is not a "feel good" devotional of sweet stories that will warm your heart. There is definitely a place for that, but that is not the purpose of this book. This guide is focused on destiny!

The meditations are designed to be read in sequence. Do not start in the middle or skip around. Read the devotions in context, as each one builds on previous meditations. You are on the road to divine destiny, and there are no shortcuts.

During the course of this year, you will travel with God's people, Israel, from their inception as a nation to the fulfillment of their destiny in the Promised Land. You will learn about the vision that birthed their destiny and trace the historical pathway that led to their Promised Land. As you do so, divine destiny will be birthed in your own heart.

You will learn from the first generation of Israelites the things that aborted their destiny so that you can avoid these in your own spiritual journey. You will learn how the first generation destroyed their future with their own words, by their disobedience, by a negative mind-set, and through the appeals of the world, the flesh and the devil. You will learn strategies for dealing with each of these hindrances so that you will not fall victim to them.

You will learn vital spiritual lessons as you join Israel in the wilderness where they wandered for forty years. From the new generation that was raised up during this time, you will discover how to produce the proof that God is who He says He is and how to access divine provision to achieve destiny.

You will learn how to overcome impending defeat, how to deal with deception, how to achieve victory in every battle of life, and how to abolish every scheme of the enemy that would potentially abort your destiny.

As you read the accounts of Israel claiming their inheritance in the latter part of the readings for this year, you will discover that you, too, have been equipped to rise up in supernatural power to claim your own spiritual destiny.

If you did not know that you have a divine purpose, you will learn that you do and how to fulfill it through the pages of this guide.

If you already know that you are a person of destiny but have not known how to fulfill your purpose, you will learn how through these meditations.

If you have failed and fallen along the road to your destiny, this is your second chance. It is a new day, a new year, and a new season in God.

So let the journey begin!
